- 1981 Chevrolet El Camino
I recently bought a 1981 El Camino with a bunch of cool stuff done. The most interesting is the 90's era VORTEC heads on a "3970010" 70's era block. (I think) I am attaching the casting number / Block Stamp and date code from the block. Has anyone seen this conversion? I can't date the block. PLEASE HELP!!. Also, I am curious if I should use synthetic, Synthetic blend or SEA Oil. Also, should I use a hotter plug? Running an Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm carb and a mild to mid cam. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Mike
