Hi
Thanxs for a fantastic site, writing from Sweden.

Just bought a replacement engine to my Maxum 2400 SCR 2002, bought the engine on an auction no papers to it. Brand New, never used shall be Mercruiser Marine

Its a marine replacement, brass plugs in the block etc. My biggest fear is that it is a counter clockwise engine and that means disassemble and replace what ? Camshaft, Pistons ?

And I would like to know more in general about it

What I do know:

Engine Block number at the rear is: 10243880 (So should be VORTEC, Roller, 2 or 4 bolt main bearing) Anything more you need to know ?
Casting Date: K12-5, So should be 12´th Nov 2005 or 2015 ?
Engine number front right side: 1M1202 first row, 3G01 second row

Br Tobias, from the winterish Gothenburg

Yup 880 is a Vortec block, heads will be a 062 or 906 castings. i would see which way the starter motor spins with 12v applied and take it from there.

to the best of my knowledge, MC did nor build any reverse rotation 350's with roller cams. if you want to be sure, take the front cover off: it its got a chain, it's standard rotation (CCW); if it's got gears, its reverse (CW).
rotation is always as viewed from the back of the engine.
