Need Help With Engine Numbers

Hello,
I just got this engine and wanted to know what year it is so i could buy parts

numbers on the back of the block are #3970010
and the numbers on the front are #14N280476 & V0611VA F

From the numbers you've posted we can tell a lot about your engine.
So, let's take a look;

3970010 - Block Casting Number - 1969, 302 cid, 290 HP, 4 bolt main, 1969 - 1979, 350 cid, 145, 165, 175, 200,
245, 250, 255, 270, 295, 300, 330, 360, 370 HP, 2 & 4 bolt main (4 bolt main most common).

V0611VAF - Engine Assembly Code - V = Norwood (Ohio), Engine Assembly Plant, 0611 = Date Code, June 11, VAF = Engine Suffix COde, 1974, 350 cid, 295 HP.

14N280476 - Engine Partial Vin Code - 1 = Chevy, N = Norwood (Ohio), Vehicle Assembly Plant, 280476 = Partial Vehicle VIN (Matching Numbers)

So, what do we have?
Knowing the Norwood plant built Chevrolet Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala, Nova, Caprice, Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and the Buick Apollo.
From 1972 - 1974, the primary output was the Nova and Camaro.
We can deduce your engine is most probably a 350 cid, 295 HP, 4 bolt main, from a 1974 Camaro or Nova.
