Need help identifying an engine, GM3898948

I have an engine which I am desperately trying to identify. It is marked as GM3898948 but I can't seem to get definitive information on it. It was in my husband's 1960 Chevrolet Corvette. Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction. I am trying to identify it so I can sell the motor (which was already redone once, but unfortunately, no prepped for storage, so some rusting occurred).

Check the numbers very closely, the only thing that makes sense is 3896948 which is a
1966-1967 283. and most likely what was used to replace a unuseable 283 from 1960.
That second 8 could be a 6, clean it with a brush or take a paper and pencil rubbing of the number.
