trying to figure out what this engine block is

Gonna be tough to figure out what it is by the Serial Number.
You need to post (or look up) the Casting Number, on the back of the block (yes, where the flywheel goes!) for the casting number, usually an 8 digit number, except in the cast of a really early block, like '50's - '60's.
