Block casting number: 3756519 - Car/truck/Vette
Cast date (Possible): D171 - 17 Apr 1961
Possible VIN: 9V166755 - ?????????

Sorry this is all I can get from the seller

The date seems correct. This 283 was used both in Corvettes and other passenger cars and trucks. Do you have a suffix code for the engine?

Well, here's the short story, from the casting number;
"3756519 - 1958-1962 283 2-bolt mains"

So, seems the Casting Number info and the date code info jive, so, looks like the engine is, 'as advertised'.
