Chevy truck bed floor swap

[1977 chevy trucks]

I`m considering swapping the rotten wood bed floor in project truck,1977 GMC shortbox step side for a metal one out of a 1973 Chevy c20 long bed fleetside,I`ve already cut that out.I just cant justify the 300$ for new bed wood that wont last long...Any ideas,or even opinions?
