I have a Chevrolet small block out of a1960 Corvette with a casting# of 3756519 and a group stamp# F04I4C.
The strange thing is that the starter motor bolts vertically to the block and the oil filter is the one piece screw on type. If my memory serves me correctly the starter motor should bolt horizontally to the transmission bell housing and the oil filter should be a element replacement only type.
The casting# is one of two that are correct for 1958 - 61 Corvette. But obviously the block is not the right configuration for early production small block Chevrolet motors.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
