Chevy block 10243880, need help please

Hey everyone I am trying to get some info on a motor I have. These are the numbers I got off the block and the heads.

Chevy block 10243880
Heads 14101083

Engine has a flat tappet cam I do know that because I pulled the intake off because it had a collapsed lifter. Is this motor worth investing in? Just trying to build a mild 350hp and have a little thump at idea. Thanks again in advance for the help!

The 880 block was used quite a bit for Vortec applications, it is possible your short block has 4 bolt mains, powdered metal rods and the smaller dish pistons for 9.6 compression.

The heads are decent enough with a pre Vortec combustion chamber design and with minor bowl porting could flow just fine.

The motor is worth reusing.

With a decent RV cam you could easily make between 300-350 hp with a solid 375 ft lb torque
