305 or 350 v8

1996 Pontiac Firebird 355v8
have a sbc that i was told it was a 350....have a guy interested in buying it and he said it looks like it has 305 heads...ive got the off the front off the engine v0608uk cbj163849 the casting number on the back of the block isnt readable does anyone know how to find out what size this engine is

Look on the back of the block behind the head on the drivers side. On the area between the transmission mounting surface and the drivers side head you sill see the designation for the engine size. If it is a 305 it should have 5.0L, if it is a 350 it would have 5.7L. It should be about 3 inches from the top outside transmission bolt hole. This is much more reliable than the serial number on determining the engine size. Hope this helps.
