GM V8 indentification

Hello and please allow me to jump in ... new to this forum and trying to figure out what engine is in my car.
I purchased a 1981 firebird that had its engine swapped from its original 6 cylinder to an 8 cylinder, but I have no information on the specs.
I'd love some help deciphering the numbers I have found on the block thus far:

1- Front Passenger side
a. V0505DDM
b. 1GR190199

2- Rear driver side:
a. GM 5.0LG
b. D286

Any help here will be most appreciated.

Well you have a late model 305 , the casting number at back (ex. 14093627) could help narrow down the year.
What would tell us way more is the head casting number under the valve cover and while you have the valve cover off have a look down past the push rods into the valley and see whither the motor has a flat tappet or roller cam, see if there are dog bone line up bars and a spider on top of the lifters.

Is the motor TBI ?
